Fund Raiser Final Report: We thank God and you for the very successful campaign which allows us to continue our focus of “Ministry First” and supplying trustworthy biblical material free for you to use in your ministry and personal study. As you can see on the thermometer on the right that we almost reached the goal of using all the matching funds. We were $1391 short and we raised a total of $804,520 before the cutoff. But sit down as I share with you a super praise.  Our anonymous donor matched your donations with $498,634 and gave an additional $501,366 to make his total contribution $1 million. God is so great!

Update 11/24/2010 Praise the Lord for all who have donated and our donor who matched your gift, for a total to date of 502,938. We have $175,379 of matching funds left.

We want to thank all of you for the wonderful support we have seen over the last few weeks. My goal and our generous donors goal is to see us add new donors that support the vision and projects of bible.org and to use all the $175,379 matching funds still available.

As I was thinking how we can show a special thanks to all the donors and maybe add a benefit that might encourage more participation at the $100 or more level, I thought that a significant gift of appreciation would be to give donors the following features in our new NET Bible Study tool that we have under development at http://beta.net.bible.org

Hopefully you will see the yearly subscription for every $100 dollars you donate to bible.org as a significant benefit. (so $1000 donation = 10 years of subscription). The value of these items far exceed the $100 donation. If purchased from Galaxie Software, the cd version would cost several hundred dollars.

**I encourage you to donate or increase your donation and see if we can use up all the matching funds that are left. ** Reminder if we are able to use all the matching funds I will turn off all external ads.

• We need your email to turn on your journals subscription so if you sent in a check and donated by a method where you did not get an email acknowledgment we do not have your email and can not give you your gift journal subscription. Send us your email and your name so we can find your donation before 30 Dec 2010 and we will turn on your journals subscription.

As I have been thinking and praying about what I should write as an interim report on our donation drive I became convinced that I should write it as if I was on the receiving end of this email. I should realize that people give to other people and to causes they believe in and that this email should attempt to talk about the leadership behind bible.org and the projects God has laid on our hearts. I should trust God to work in the hearts of our users to move them to join us in our dream of equipping Christians for global impact. Many of you have used bible.org as a free resource and you may be asking yourself why is bible.org asking me for a significant donation at this time. I need answer that question and explain why we think the efforts of bible.org worthy of your significant investment at this time. Let me attempt to answer those questions in a short space.  

• The leadership team of bible.org can be trusted- bible.org has been faithful over the years to provide quality trustworthy biblical material for free in the spirit of Lev 23:22. . Our programmers and scholars have worked for 16 years and have spent around $6 million dollars to get here. More work has been done by volunteers than by paid staff. We’re anxious to do more, and complete some important new projects.
• The leadership of bible.org is committed to the dream of equipping all the Christians for global impact by harnessing the Internet for God. They are giving significantly of their resources and time taking no salary for their labors.
• bible.org has built a ministry that is extremely efficient in developing new tools and in delivering material to millions of users around the globe and we do that on a budget of $21,000/mth or approximately 6.5 cents for 100 pages delivered. Current users of bible.org are studying over 320 Million pages a month. Over 50% of teachers and students are outside the USA. In the past 12 months we had over 958,520 users who spent over 10 minutes per visit and 287,935 who spent over 30 minutes per visit. We have over 2.5 million people that use the site monthly. • There is a groundswell of interest in Christ globally. Bible.org’s traffic was up 30% just in the last quarter. We are the world’s largest bible study source, serving more material to more users than any charity or any commercial publisher – all for free. We believe that all our content should be trustworthy and faithful. For millions of pastors and teachers, we are their only library. Now is the time to join us in this great commission – go to all the world, in all languages, and teach them to obey everything that I have commanded

Where are your donations going?

Several important projects are underway let me share one of them in a little more detail. (Enhancing the NET Bible online study tool "Beta".) In addition to the features discused above we are enhanceing our bible study tool so we can use it to support the Chinese NET Bible project and other language projects. As we have shared one of our dreams is to harness the Internet for God and provide our authors with an Internet pulpit that reaches billions of people. Part of this dream is to give our users access to **all the Christian material **that is on the Internet. To do this we had to build a complete map to all Biblical materials on the Internet and review and cull out those sites that say they are Christian but are otherwise.You can be an advanced testor by going here.

• As you consider adding bible.org to the ministries you support, you can check out our work on the beta bible study tool and our history of being faithful to our pledge to always put ministry first. I contend that we have been faithful with our own time and money all these years and you can trust your investment on us. We promise to be equally faithful with your matching donations and to accelerate our work to impact the globe for Christ. You know that every dollar you give is matched 2 for 1 for 3 more days till thanksgiving 2010
• Many more projects are listed below. We only described this one in detail to give you a sense of why we were so encouraged when God sent us the matching fund sponsor and why we agreed to have our first fundraiser at his urging. He saw what we were doing with a small staff – and correctly asserted that we were not doing the right thing for our Lord by proudly going about our work slowly, alone, and without outside help.

I close this section with Nehemiah had a “dream” and it was to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. With God’s direction and his team he achieved the goal in just 52 days! With you as our “dream team” we can build out these tools for the world in many languages but we only have 14 days left to use the matching funds that will help us in the work.
